According to unofficial data, the production of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 875 processor will be undertaken by TSMC, which will use a 5-nm process. It also produces Snapdragon 845 and 855 chips, and Samsung produced the 820 and 835. For the release of the 7nm Snapdragon 865 in 2020, Qualcomm will return to Samsung.
However, plans go further - Qualcomm's partner in 2021 for the production of Snapdragon 875 will again be TSMC. PhoneArena gives an example that in 2009, the TI OMAP 3430 processor, created on 65-nm technology, was installed in the Motorola DROID smartphone.
At the moment, only two companies are able to establish the release of 7-nm and 5-nm mobile processors - TSMC and Samsung.
